Ivorian Refugees In Buutuo, Nimba County Receive Huge Donation From Christian Aid Ministries

Hundreds of Ivorian refugees who crossed over to Liberia due to electoral violence in their country and are residing in a Buutuo, a border town in Nimba County have received a huge donation including food items from a religious group, the Christian Aid Ministries last week, November 26,2020.
According to GNN Correspondent in the County, quoting Pastor Akin Shicue head of Christian Aid Ministries the food distribution was been carryout by the United Nations High Commission of Refugees (UNHCR) and the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) jointly carrying out the distribution after recording over one thousands Ivorian citizens.
He also told the GNN that the distribution has effected seventeen bordering Town’s that the refugees residing in presently, and further disclosed that the presence of the refugees may have caused difficulties for citizens residing in the area due to lack of refugee camp in the district.
speaking Thursday during the distribution in Buutuo, Pastor Shiue said, Christian AID Ministries brought three hundred bags of 25kg rice, fifty bags of beans and fifty carton of oil, while at the same time extended thanks and appreciation to the community dwellers for the level of care given to the refugees since their arrival in the country.
For his part the internal affairs minister Mr. Varney A. Sirleaf has called on those refugees to uphold the common ground rules, meaning to be law abiding in their new environment while they are away from home.
He pleaded with them to adopt themselves to what situation they find themselves, and further assured them of the Liberian Government fullest support.
