IN NIMBA: Ganta City Mayor Threatens Court Action Against Radio Journalist

The City Mayor of Ganta, Amos N.G Suah has reportedly threatened to take radio host Proncd Y. Gbozuah to court if he cannot stop being critical on the city council operation without facts.

According to our Nimba County Correspondent, Mayor Suah on July 1,2020 sent a letter of complaint to the management of Voice of Gompa where Prince Y.  Gbozuah complaining him that in April 2020, journalist Gbozuah described the City Council by saying “It is written on the walls of Gompa City that the City Council will be dismissed in two months period, and again on June 10, 2020, he said “The City Mayor has taken the concrete blocks on the civil compound which is meant for the City Hall construction and have it diverted into his personal house construction.

Ganta City Mayor through his communication to the station management maintained that he doesn’t know how did journalist Gbozuah get his story about the city council, and further warned that if nothing is done to the journalist by his management, the City Council will straightly he Gbozuah to court .

Reacting to the Mayor Communication, Journalist Gbozuah indicated that the City Mayor’s actions to serve his entity letter is what he called a witch hunt and cannot stop him from been critical, and silence his good professional career.

In a related development, the Ganta City Council is calling on all well-meaning Liberians, especially those who made pledges during the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a modern  city hall on May ,4 ,2020 to make their pledges fruitful.
