In Its Annual Ceremony, Prince Talal Prize Honors the Clean Water Advocates

The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) is honoring the winners of Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development at the award ceremony on June 16, 2021 under the patronage of HRH Prince Abdul Aziz bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, President of AGFUND and Chairman of the Prize Committee. The ceremony will be held virtually and attended by representatives from international and UN organizations, the diplomatic sector, development experts and AGFUND Board of Directors.

According to a dispatch, Her Majesty Queen Sophia, representing the Prize Committee, H.E. Mr. Nikhil Seth, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), H.E. Dr. Abdulhamid Al-Khalifa, Director-General, The OPEC Fund for International Development, Mr. Nasser Alkahtani, Executive Director of AGFUND, will deliver the opening speeches.

The $1,000,000 prize is awarded annually to the four projects that were implemented by:

1) UN, international and regional organizations.

2) National NGOs.

3) Public institutions, social business enterprises/ foundations.

4) Individuals.

It’s worth mentioning that award ceremony is held for the winners of the year 2019 that competed for the Prize in the field of “Water and Sanitation” the Sixth Goal of the 2030 Agenda.
