In Grandcess Wedabo district, a man in his 40s has been accused of allegedly raping an 18-year-girl, and has been sent to jail, according to our Correspondent in the County, Johnson Brooks has been changed and detained at the Grand Kru central prison pending prosecution.
Brooks was forwarded to the Barclayville magisterial count on July 30 2020 after he was changed by police in Grand Kru County following an investigation.
Johnson T. Brooks has not been officially changed and sent to count, but the alleged crime committed is rape and incest as defined in the penal law of Liberia.
The alleged rape act reportedly occurred Sunday night, July 26, 2020 in the Balloken, Grandcess Wedabo district at about 11pm.
A source close to the police in Grand Kru County confirmed the information to GNN, Grand Kru correspondent Tuesday, July 28, 2020 but said investigation is still ongoing.
According to a source that close to the police in Barclayville city, the survivor who name withheld to protect her identity was on the program during the July 26 pre-celebration on Sunday, suspect Johnson T. Brooks commonly known as ‘Devil working God working”, called the 18-year-old survivor for a discussion at the front page of his house.
The source disclosed that, suspect Johnson T. Brooks allegedly took the 18-year-old girl survivor lapper from her and quickly took the lapper in his bedroom during the interaction between the 18-year-old girl and he, suspect Johnson T. Brooks.
Police source quotes that, after suspect Johnson T. Brooks commonly known as ‘devil working, God working, took the 18-year-old girl lapper in his bedroom, suspect Johnson T. Brooks called the girl in his bedroom for the lapper.
Meanwhile, according to the source, at the time the 18-year-old-girl went to suspect Johnson T. Brooks bedroom to get her lapper, she was forcedly graped by Johnson T. Brooks and locked 18-year-old girl in his bedroom and allegedly raped her.
The source alleged that photos were taken by suspect Johnson T. Brooks himself at the time he carried on the alleged rape after which he published the photos of the 18-year-old survivor in the wedabo, Balloken community.
Suspect Johnson T. Brooks was arrested on July 27, 2020 Monday, by community members and later turned over to the LNP in Grand Kru.
The 18-year-old survivor was then rushed to a health center in the area, where it was confirmed that she had been penetrated.
The source explained that, Johnson T. Brooks has agreed of having sex with the 18-year-old survivor, however, the alleged perpetrator was arrested and has been in police custody since Monday, July 27, 2020 awaiting count trail.
