Grand Bassa County Project Management Committee (PMC) chairman Moses Gbehzohngar Henry says the amount of USD $350,000.00 was expanded during fiscal year 2018/2019.

The PMC chairman told delegates at the Extra Ordinary County Sitting Held on August 1, 2020 that the County expected the sum of USD $ 740,999.00 from the Ministry of Finance during the 2018/2019 fiscal year.

He mentioned that the hope of the county was dashed after the Ministry of Finance released the sum of USD $ 350,000.00.

“Out of the total money received from the Ministry, 10% which is USD $35,000.00 was used as administrative cost while the sum of USD $315,000.00 was used on projects and programs”.

He furthered “we carry out lots of projects which are not yet completed due to the shortage of funds”.

Moses Henry named the projects and the status as the Jacob Larteh Town commissioner Office (60% completed), Construction of Boglay Commissioner Residence (65% completed), Compound 4 Youth center (60% completed) ,and  the construction of Zwehgar Town Bridge ( 50% completed) .

He furthered “We also purchased a mini Sanitation Truck for Buchanan City Corporation (USD$ 25,000.00), two tricycles and a Chain Saw for Neekreen Statutory District (USD $ 10,000.00), the payment of Doctors Quarter Rent (USD $ 5,000.00) and the Renovation of Buchanan’s Administrative Building (USD$ 15,000 paid, balance USD$35,000.00).

The reported from the PMC chairman raised lots of concerns one of which came from Madam Janjay Lloyd who raised a concern that 20% of the County Social Development funds should be given to effected communities.

She mentioned that they’ve never heard or seen the county providing the 20% of the County Social Development Fund to the affected communities.

Madam Lloyd stressed that there is a need for the County to take into consideration the affected communities this county sitting.

The PMC made the report during an Extra Ordinary County Council Sitting held on August 1, 2020 at the Grand Bassa Pavilion.
