Members of the medical team of I-Help Liberia Project today, Saturday, August 31, 2019 had an acquaintance meeting today aimed establishing a prominent headquarter to supplement the many contributions being made by the organization’s United States based founders who have over the years empowered Science Education in Liberia; training Liberian teachers and students in STEM.
Today’s gathering which was chaired by Dr. Jonathan M. Hart, Chief Executive Officer of I-Help Liberia Project and Co-chaired by Mr. Abraham Jabateh National Coordinator of the organization brought together six medical students with the primary objective of establishing a prominent headquarter of the organization in Liberia.
During the meeting, Dr. Hart urged members of the medical team of I-Help Liberia Project to build what he called a culture of success, and do away with the dependency syndrome, noting, “Do not put yourself first in whatever you are call upon to do by impacting the lives around you; how better you serve today will make you a better person tomorrow,” Dr. Hart speaking to the gathering advised.
For his part, Mr. Jabateh told the gathering to be committed in whatever they called upon to do, stressing, “Your committed services to this organization; I-Help Liberia Project will encourage our United States based partners to do more for us in Liberia, I expect you to exhibit a renewed sense of seriousness and commitment if you are to excel like Dr. Hart,” Mr. Jabateh tutored the I-Help Liberia Project medical team.
The medical students and scholar in their separate remarks, expressed thanks and appreciation to the founder of I-Help Liberia Project, Mr. Asumana J. Randolph who they described as a true nationalist whose through his instrumentality gave birth to the formation of I-Help Liberia USA with the support of American scholars.
In the drive to help supplement the efforts of the organization’s United States based founders, the students through the tutorship of Dr. Hart and Mr. Jabateh agreed to help in supporting and financing a local office here in Liberia that will accommodate both local staff and also to put in place training facilities.
The organization is currently sponsoring several Liberian medical students at the A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine as part of its efforts to creating seeds of positive change, and helping to building their educational capacity; Dr. Jonathan M. Hart is one of the proud beneficiaries of I-Help Liberia Project scholarship program.
Since the establishment of I-Help Liberia Project USA in 2008, dozens of STEM workshops have been conducted in Liberia; training Liberian teachers, students and providing modern science laboratory equipment to schools, focusing on educating and inspiring teachers so that they can pass on knowledge and enthusiasm to their students.
