Mr. President, Your Actions Ordering The Arrest Of July 26 Violence Perpetrators Was In The Right Direction and Timely

Last week Monrovia and its environ was rocked with the news about the brutalities that occurred between University of Liberia campus based student political parties, Student Unification Party (SUP) and the CDC-COP militants on July 26, the country’s Independence Day, clashes grew out of the protest, leaving several SUP students to be wounded.

This incident drew chill bombs on the skin of many Liberians wondering as to whether any arrest was made by the police, but unfortunately the spokesperson of the police, Moses Cater publicly disclosed that there had been no complainant which will lead to the any arrest.

This disclosure by the police baffled many Liberians who questioned the independence of the police amid the clashes which made several members of the SUP to suffered serious injuring during the protest, while the police remained quite on the issue.

With this action of the police, apparently the Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah could not withhold his feelings for his people,  took the airwave to ordered the immediate arrests of those who may be linked to this acts, and further denounced the ruling party (CDC relationship with those  alleged perpetrators noting that they are not members of his political party.

After the Liberian leader statement, the police which said it had to complainant to issue any arrest anyone, had bounced back noting that to the contrary that it had arrested seven persons in connect to the  July 26 protest.

Mr. President, Your Actions Ordering The Arrest Of July 26 Violence Perpetrators Was indeed in the right direction and timely.
