“Former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott And Others Have Not Been Charged” – Police Clarifies
Following media reports yesterday, June 20, 2023 that the former Chief Justice of Liberia, Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott and three others by the Liberia National Police at the Temple of Justice, the Spokesman of the Police has publicly clarified that the police has not announce any charges against the former Chief Justice and others.
Speaking on a local radio station on OK Conversation on Tuesday, Moses Carter Said the police has not press any charges against Musu Scott and pothers as being widely reported by the Liberian media, and further disclosed that the police will release detail today, Wednesday.
The Liberian media reported that the Liberia National Police in Monrovia have charged and sent to court former Chief Justice Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott, and other family members. The four were charged with Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and False Testimony to Law Enforcement officers.
According to report, the former Chief Justice was handed an arrest warrant and charged with the crime of Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, and False Testimony to Law Enforcement officers, in the case involving the killing of her daughter Charloe Musu, who was reportedly stabbed multiple times with a sharp instrument, sometime in March this year.
Those reportedly indicted along with Cllr. Scott are Rebecca Youdeh Wisner, Gertrude Newton and Alice Johnson.
On Friday morning, amid heavy deployment of riot and armed police on the grounds of the LNP Headquarters, Justice Scott’s lawyers presented a letter of excuse, asking for an extension to Tuesday, June 20, 2023, citing health reasons.
The police gave no particular reason for the latest request, but again, in the wake of that, unofficial information about Justice Scott’s planned arrest has emerged. The three other family members expected at the LNP Headquarters are her aunt, Rebecca Youdeh Wisner, Gertrude
