Liberia’s Minister of Finance and Development Planning Samuel D. Tweah, Jr.,

The Minister of Finance, Development and Planning (MFDP), Samuel Tweah has disclosed that in the shortest period of time a new Liberian banknote will be introduced on the Liberian market aimed at solidifying the growth of the Liberian economy.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information regular Thursday press briefing, Minister Tweah said there is a need for the Liberian economy to be reshaped, adding, “A new Liberian currency will shortly be introduced, therefore we are calling on the Liberian people to do all in their power by depositing the current Liberian dollar banknote at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) in order to be on the save side whenever this new banknote is released,” Minister Tweah to the press.

He decried those who are in the constant habit of keeping money in their homes instead of the CBL, “We urged all of you to carry your money, especially the Liberian banknotes to the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) safe keeping, because when the time comes, it will be in your best interest,” the tough taking Minister told members of the press.
