Police have arrested the father of a teen who was fatally shot in his bed in the 100 block of Aransas Avenue, March 14, 2018.

Andres Delgado, 44, was arrested on the city’s West side Tuesday without incident, according to a social media post from the San Antonio Police Department. He is expected to be charged with manslaughter in the incident, according to the post.

His son, Andres Delgado IV, was pronounced dead at a local hospital after police responded to his East Side home around 6 a.m. March 14.

Police said the teen’s father was a suspect in the case at the time.

On the night of the shooting, police received multiple calls for shots fired in the area of Denver Boulevard and South Mesquite Street. When they arrived they found the teenager suffering from a single gunshot wound to his torso, officials said.

Police Chief William McManus said the shooter apparently fired multiple weapons and officers found shell casings in every room of the home. Officials said police also found handguns, a shotgun and an AR-15.

“The shooting all occurred inside the house with a variety of weapons around the house … Right now, we don’t exactly know what was going through the father’s head,” McManus said at the time of the shooting.
