CSA to Introduce Automation of LPA for Civil Servant

-Showcases Demo of Platform Platform Technology

CSA (Monrovia) – 26 Nov 2024: The Government of Liberia through the Civil Service Agency (CSA), has disclosed a plan to automate the Legal Power of Attorney (LPA) scheme for all Civil Servants across the Country. The Director General of the Civil Service Agency, Hon. Josiah F. Joekai Jr., speaking at the Agency,  says the introduction of the Automated LPA platform is intended to close the paper-based processing of LPA for civil servants

The Legal Power of Attorney was reintroduced in August, 2021 for civil servants, and fully operationalized in April, 2022 up to date with civil servants benefiting millions worth of goods from vendors since.

“The introduction of the automated LPA technology is to advance the scheme from a paper based approach to an approach that will enable civil servants to sit in their comfort zones to put in their orders to the vendors to address their personal needs,” the Civil Service Agency Director General Joekai said.

Besides, the CSA Director General told the gathering that the technology will be inclusive of businesses trading in the country, encourage competition and will afford civil servants the opportunity to make choices of the quality of goods they want in the process.

He pointed out that tis advancement is part of the reform process being undertaken at the CSA, and thanked the vendors for their participation in making the LPA process a reality.

The Director General is at the same time encouraging the Welfare division at the CSA to carry on a series of awareness at government functionaries to help sensitize employees on the importance of the automated LPA scheme.

The designers displayed the demo of the technology and allowed the vendors to ask questions and resolve their concerns about the platform.

After almost two hours of interaction, the Deputy Director General for Administration, Mr. Dahnu  Mianyen who closed the session said that the technology solution is not cast in stone as it is subject to adjustment from time to time to meet the needs of the parties.
