Covid-19 Stimulus package distribution Commences In Maryland County

The long awaited Corona Virus Stimulus package promised by the Liberian government for the people of Liberia, have already started in Harper district, Maryland County, with the distribution of several food items including Rice, beans and oil. The process which started on January 4, 2021 is been supervised by Caritas, in Harper Maryland County.

Speaking to Journalists in Harper City, the Program Officer of Caritas Cape Palmas Mr. Waidi Bobo, said the government of Liberia decided to distribute food items to Some citizens in Maryland County due to the  economy situation in Liberia caused by the Corona Virus out break globally.

He told reporters that every qualified household in the County will receive 2 bags of 25 kg rice, 1 gallon of oil, and 10 kilogram of beans, and further disclosed that 25,952  household  are been selected to benefit from this in the four districts of Maryland County.

Mr. Bobo said the four districts  are Harper district, Pleebo sodoken district, Karluway district and Barrobo district, stressed  that he is grateful to God for this opportunity given the Caritas Cape Palmas to controlled the distribution process of the Covid-19  stimulus package in the Southeast part of the Country.

He narrated that Caritas Cape Palmas will fairly distribute the food items in Maryland County to those who supposed to receive.

In an interview with some of the beneficiaries lauded the effort of the Liberian government and Partners for the Kind gesture, noting that they are extremely happy for the support given them from the National Government of Liberia.

The beneficiaries also craved for the continuous protection of God for the government, especially to his Excellency Dr. George Menneh Weah who through his good will they are receiving food items during these difficult periods.
