Cllr. John Lafayette Griggs’ Pursuit For The Supreme Court Bench Swells

As the Liberian Leader, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai prepares to nominate a credible Liberian legal practitioner to fill the gap of the late Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe, one of such who many feels could be the best choice for such prestigious position to be nominated is Cllr. John Lafayette Griggs.

Cllr. John Lafayette Griggs who hailed from Grand Bassa County, seems to be the preferred choice of many Liberians including some of his colleagues in the legal profession, noting that he is indeed fit for such position to be nominated by the Liberian presidency as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Some Liberians who spoke to reporters over the weekend, including women advocates strongly urged the Liberian presidency to considered the nomination of this young Liberian legal professional, who they described as the ‘Right Person’ for such high-profile position.

The women group in their prepared statement said, if nominated to the Supreme Court Bench as Associate Justice he will professionally perform well, and further exhibit a high level of experience on that Bench under the President Joseph N Boakai administration so we have no doubt to justify the confidence reposed in him.

The women group in their statement also pointed out that it will make history for a Counsellor-At-Law who has a well-grounded experience ascend to such a high-profile position, noting that it will be a history for such a young Liberian to occupy such high-profile position after serving in the judiciary for decades in court administration and other judiciary assignments. Speaking further, the women, many of whom from the Grand Bassa County belt said Griggs possesses all qualifications to ascend to this high-profile position.

As a professional lawyer, Cllr. John Lafayette Griggs is a member of Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA), academically he studied at Liberia Assembly Of God Bible College (LAGBC), the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, the AME Zion University College, Went to College Of West Africa (CWA also studied at University of Liberia
