Brooklyn Teacher Accused of Touching 11-Year-Old Student

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A teacher in Brooklyn is facing sexual abuse charges for inappropriately touching a student.

According to investigators, Daniel Santigao, 29, allegedly touched an 11-year-old girl at PS 244 in East Flatbush.

Police say it happened in a two month span from February to this month.

Santigao also faces charges of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The city’s Department of Education says he was reassigned away from the classroom and are trying to remove him from payroll.
