For the alleged failure of the Liberian Government through the Ministry of Education to settle nearly 10 months of supplementary salaries, over 300 teaches in central Liberia, Bong County have resolved to issue a lawsuit against the Liberian Government.
Speaking to reporters, Josiah Kollie a member of the group said the teachers over the past ten years have not receive a cent from the Liberian Government, despite efforts by the Chief Education Officer to prevail to the Ministry for the payment of the teachers’ supplementary pay.
“We have been denied of our rights, despite our efforts to tutor the future leaders of our beloved country, we are not been appreciated by the government. We will not rest until the Ministry is brought to book,” Josiah Kollie speaking further told reporters.
Mr. Kollie also disclosed that the action of the Ministry has violated the Liberian labor law; for the failure of an employer’s refusal to settle the financial obligation of his employees. This alleged action by the Bong County teachers to issue a lawsuit against the Ministry of Education seems to worry both parents and students in the County.
