Auxiliary Group Asks Liberians to Support Cllr. Gongloe for President

Presidential Hopeful, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe

Counselor Tiawan Saye Gongloe’s bid for the Liberian presidency has gained momentum. When he declared, on December 4, 2021 in Ganta, Nimba County that he would contest for the topmost job, some known politicians dismissed him. They said he would go nowhere because he is unpopular politically although he is famous for his human rights work, and that he is poor to foot campaign expenses for a legislative seat let alone the presidency.

Notwithstanding, the proverbial lawyer and human rights campaigner embarked on public engagements, speaking everywhere he was called. He honored invitations – sometime on short notice – to address graduating students, professional fraternities, anniversaries, founding days of worship centers, disadvantaged youths known as “Zogos and Zogees” and street-corner gatherings of intellectuals. Whether it was an occasion of small or big communities – far or near, Gongloe attended and highlighted the cancerous problem of public service corruption which has defaced and impaired Liberia, and his vision to transform the Country through the rule of law.

Also, he constantly engaged the media well before he travelled to the United States in May, 2022. The metropolitan and rural FM stations and the newspapers here profoundly featured him. While in the US, media reports say he has been ably reaching out, wooing Liberians and their partners and friends to back his bid for the Presidency. In calling on them, he presents the cruxes of his “Better Liberia Agenda”, and “12-Count Gongloe Prescription for Combatting Corruption in Liberia”. All this, the Diaspora Liberians heed, and proclaim support of him so that when he is elected, he would give their Motherland a facelift based on the rule of law.

The Counselor’s outreach and mobilization in Liberia and abroad, resonate with electorates. They do not only want to wait to vote for him in October, 2023 but long to participate in the ongoing Gongloe-for-President crusade individually or collectively. It is in this regard that an auxiliary group has been founded. It is called LIBERIANS FOR GONGLOE (LIFOGO). Started on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at DuPort Road in Paynesville, the nonpartisan organization will work toward a corruption-free Liberia and an accountable Government for national peace and sustainable development.

To attain this milestone, the group found Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe best suited to assume the role of President of Liberia, and will mobilize the electorates to elect him President in 2023. For this singular purpose, LIFOGO invites every Liberian to join it in the rally to vote for this impeccable public servant so that he would transform our Motherland from the dismal state it is in under the watch of President George Manneh Weah.
