As Liberia Drags Into ‘Unbearable’ Financial Crisis, Liberians Ponder Over Exorbitant Spending Of President Weah

According to Liberia’s talk show host, Henry P. Costa, the financial transmittal of the Liberian leader, Dr. George Manneh Weah for each official visit out of the country has created serious alarm, especially when Liberian is trying to recover from financial depletion, and the countless misuse of public funds.

His latest visit to neighboring Guinea for two days, according to a linked document in the possession of Mr. Henry Costa indicates that the Liberian leader has bagged One Hundred Fifty Thousand United Dollars (US$150.00).

According to the linked document allegedly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,  where the President’s office resides, those officials who are said to be on the Liberian leader delegation will receive a daily par dime of Six Hundred and Eight-Five United Dollars) US$685.00 daily.

Efforts by the GNN to contact the Presidential Press Secretary, Isaac Solo Kelgbeh and his deputy Smith Toby to  ascertain the facts sounding the alleged ‘Exorbitant spending’ of the President regarding his two days trip to Guinea  via their respective mobile phones proved unsuccessful.

But for some Liberians who spoke to the GNN, called on the talk show host not to politicize the President’s alleged exorbitant spending on his foreign travels, noting that it is at the will and pleasure of the President what amount he should take with him as a leader of a country, and also apportion par-dime to his delegation depending on their assigned positions.
