As Benoni Urey Decries Insult On The Presidency, As NEC Certificates CPP Today As A Political Party
Following series of insults on the Liberian presidency by some members of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), a founding member of the CPP, Benoni Wilfred Urey has publicly condemned the actions of the part of these individuals who are also members of the CPP.
Mr. Urey who is the political leader of the All Liberian Party (ALP) and the founding chair of the CPP took serious exception to people who on a regular basis throwing insults of the Liberian presidency, noting that this situation is not health for the country and its people.
Meanwhile, the National Elections Commission (NEC) is today expected to certificate the CPP, a conglomeration of four political parties including, the former ruling Unity Party (UP), the Alternative National Congress (ANC).the All Liberian Party (ALP) and Liberty Party (LP).
According to report, quoting letter from the National Elections Commission addressed to the Chairman of the CPP, Mr. Alexander B. Cummings stated that the CPP has met the requirement of the Constitution and Chapter 8, Section 8.5 of the 1996 New Elections Law to be registered as an alliance.
The program is expected to be held at the headquarters of the National Elections Commission (NEC) at 2pm.
