In Keeping with the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) Act, the Procurement Department of the Liberian Senate has officially opened its bidding process for petroleum products and stationery supplies.
During the official opening of the bidding process, the Chairman of the Bidding Committee, Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee K. Lawrence, assured all vendors who have expressed interest that the process will be free, fair and transparent.
According to Senator Lawrence, the work of the bidding committee will be in compliance with the PPCC Act of Liberia.
Giving an overview of the process, Senate Procurement Director and Secretary to the Bidding Committee, Saah S. Mallen, disclosed that nine of the leading petroleum companies operating in the country have expressed interest in the process.
The bidding process was in two categories, the petroleum and stationery, he explained.
The stationery component was represented by D&G Office Depot and Mattar Trading, while the petroleum component included Don-Kan, National Petroleum (NP), Liberian Petroleum (LP), Super Petroleum (SP), Aminata and Sons, Total Liberia, Petite Trade, Kailando and Srimex Enterprise.
Among the nine companies, according to him, the committee received bid documents from only three of the companies.
Only Super Petroleum and Aminata and Sons were represented at the biding process which was held at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
In closing remarks, the Co-Chairman of the Bid Committee, Senate Secretary, J. Nanborlor F. Singbeh, indicated that the committee will appropriately evaluate the documents before it and will subsequently communicate with the vendors.
