Lagos, Nigeria — November 2025: The stage is set for Africa’s brightest young biologists as the African Biology Olympiad (ABO) moves to its Continental Finals, scheduled for November 18–22, 2025, at the Pistis Conference Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.
Following the successful conclusion of national competitions across the continent, outstanding students from Tunisia, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, and Ethiopia will come together to compete for the coveted titles of King and Queen of Biology.
Proudly organized by Prestige & Graca, the African Biology Olympiad has become a symbol of scientific excellence and collaboration across Africa. The initiative seeks to empower and inspire young scientists to pursue excellence in biology and contribute to solving global challenges through innovation and research. By offering rigorous and stimulating competition, ABO nurtures a passion for biology, helps students refine their scientific skills, and creates opportunities for engagement with peers from diverse backgrounds.
Beyond competition, the Olympiad reflects a broader goal — to elevate the standard of biology education in Africa, inspire participation in international scientific challenges, and encourage the next generation of innovators and researchers to address critical issues in health, sustainability, and technology.
Supported by UAC Foods, one of the key sponsors championing education and youth development, the 2025 Continental Finals reaffirm the growing importance of science literacy and innovation to Africa’s future.
