Weah Brags As The ‘Very First’ President To Developmentally Built Liberia
Addressing thousands of partisans of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) on Thursday, September 7, 2023 during the official launch of its 2023 Campaign Rally at the headquarters of the party, President George Manneh Weah bragged of been the best President who has developmentally built Liberia than any past president.
The Liberian leader further used the occasion to expressed optimism of winning the presidency for the second term, and also used the occasion to throw political jabs at the former Vice President of Liberia, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the presidential candidate of the opposition Unity Party (UP), noting that he personally disarmed him during the Liberian civil war.
The Liberian leader was delivering an official statement at the official campaign launch of the Coalition for Democratic Change Thursday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
In an apparent indirect comment to former Vice President Joseph Boakai, President Weah noted that others squandered the opportunities they had when they were in leadership for over 40 years.
The CDC standard bearer also challenged those claiming to be the real rescuers of the Liberian people to show what they ever rescued before during their days in national government.
The Liberian leader noted that just in five of his six years as president, his government has built more hospitals, paved more roads and schools across the country than any past president in the history of Liberia.
At the same time, President George Weah has expressed optimism of winning the Liberian presidency for the second term in the October 10, 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
The CDC arrowhead lauded his fellow citizens for their continued support during his first term of office, promising to never let them down show he be given another six years mandate.
