Vice President Taylor Confirms Quarrel Between She And President Weah, Apologies

Following series of mountain rumors and ‘Hear Say’ of ‘bad blood’ between President George Manneh Weah and his Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor, the Liberian Vice President has finally admitted to a rough relationship between her and President George Manneh Weah and has rendered an apology to the President.

Speak live on a local radio station, the Truth FM on Monday, May 14, 2018, disclosed that her constant travels without informing the President contributed to some misunderstanding between her and her boss but said the situation has been resolved.

She, however, said, as Vice President, she’s the face of women on the continent, especially since Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf left power and would, therefore, have to make representations on their behalf.

VP Taylor’s National Patriotic Party (NPP) joined the Liberia People Democratic Party (LPDP) to form a coalition with Weah’s Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) in 2016 for the purpose of willing the 2017 presidential elections.

Since their ascendency to power, members of the NPP have complained of marginalization by the coalition government, saying they are not being prioritized in appointments into government.
