USAID, Sweden Sverige Irish Aid, Others Hold Editors’ Forum On Lesson Learned from October 10 Elections
Ahead of the November 14 2023 presidential run-off, international and local organizations including USAID, Sweden Sverige, Irish Aid, UNDP, Local Voices, and Internews today, November 1, 2023 sponsored a daylong Editors’ Forum on Lesson Learned from October 10, 2024 presidential and legislative elections.
The USAID Media Activity brought together over 15 editors and media managers at the conference room of Internews in Sinkor, the suburb of Monrovia highlighting Lesson learned during the just ended October 10 Elections with participants expressing their professional observations on the elections.
During the daylong discussion, issues that were focused included; Lesson learned: Experience Sharing on Reporting, Before, During and After the October 10 which was handled by Alpha Daffae Senkpeni of Local Voices.
Also speaking at the workshop was Carol Doe of ICTDev Professional who spoke of the importance of Using Digital Tools to Protect Contents.
For his part, Cllr. Lamin Kpagboi, Media Consultant spoke on Electoral Reporting: Legal Protection and What to Avoid; speaking on the importance of legal protection during electoral reporting
For Jefferson Massah, Senior Advisor at USAID Media Activity/Internews spoke on Electoral Leadership in Conflict Sensitive Journalism, while National Elections Commission (NEC) Communication Director, Henry Flomo spoke on Coordinating with NEC and the Way Forward for Presidential Run-off, and Understanding Polling and Counting Procedure
