University Of Liberia Faculty Boycott Classes In Demand Of President Dismissal
In their bid to call for the removal of the President of the University of Liberia, Dr. Julius S. Nelson for numerous administrative reasons, the entire teaching professors yesterday, June 27, 2022 abandoned classes, leaving hundreds of students littering on main campus; while campus based Progressive Student Alliance threatens protest if university administration and faculty fail to reach an agreement
Academic activities on the University of Liberia Capitol Hill Campus were paralyzed on Monday, due to the absence of instructional staff, despite pronouncement made by the University administration regarding the commencement of classes.
OK FM reporter visited the UL Capitol Hill campus on Monday and observed the influx of students pouring in to attend classes, but could not see any instructors.
Some of the classes are yet to be renovated, as water sets on the floor of some class rooms.
Despite the lack of classes on Monday, the UL Faculty Association which did not show up for classes, promised to host a General Assembly on this Wednesday to review the decision reached with authorities of the UL.
