Traditional Chiefs In Cote d’Ivoire Honor President Weah, With Traditional Name ‘Etoile’

The Liberian Leader, President George Manneh Weah who is currently visiting two West African nations, Ivory Coast and Ghana was today honored by traditional chiefs and elders during his first leg visit in Ivory Coast.
During this colorful occasion, according to our Correspondent, the Liberian leader was gowned and showered him with a traditional gift items including a walking stick, engraved with an Elephant symbol.
He was also capped during the ceremony giving him a traditional Ivorian name as s “Étoile”, meaning “Star”. The elaborate ceremony was held at the Liberian Embassy near Cocody, Abidjan.
The Chiefs enumerated the President’s numerous achievements as a Footballer and his ascendancy to the Presidency of Liberia They termed the journey as a blessing from God, the Almighty. The Chiefs congratulated the Liberian leader on his presidency and urged him to work hard and deliver on the mandate given to him by the people of Liberia. “We are proud of you…” the Chiefs hailed the President.
