The National Safety Partnership Of Liberia Applauds LDEA For Raiding Drug Dealers
Paynesville, Montserrado County – Monday, February 26, 2024: The National Safety Partnership of Liberia, (NASAPAL) Inc. applauds the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) for embarking on an operation to raid the dealers and users of narcotic drug such as cocaine, marijuana as well as “Kush” – the newest dangerous ingredients people take to get high.
Over the years, the government left the criminal act unchecked. Therefore, it significantly contributed to underpinning the upbringing and development of some young people who day-to-day crowd the hideouts of the dealers to buy and consume the narcotics.
The bad effect of the deviant trade and use is noticeable among adolescents everywhere in the Country. Some of the youths that looked good and serious about their upbringing and education have become delinquent to the point that they snatch wallets, purses, ICT gadgets and even money while others burglarize homes and enterprises simply to support their bad lifestyles.
No doubts, the sale and use of narcotics adversely threatens public safety and by extension, road safety whose noncompliance by road users and little enforcement of its rules by the government lead to vehicle crashes in which severe injuries, needless deaths or violence actions occur.
Because Liberia would be livable if the abnormal behaviors largely fueled by the sale and intake of the deadly substances are curbed, NASAPAL Inc. finds worthwhile the ongoing busts which the LDEA has started. Therefore, it encourages the public to support the Agency by giving information of where stuff are sold and consumed, the government by equipping the officers to carry out the raids unhindered.
Adding, NASAPAL Inc. Director of Operations Derrick Weah stressed: “The communities should help the LDEA in fighting the sale and consumption of the substances by providing detail information that would enable the officers to carry out their raids.” In doing so, Derrick asked the public to refrain from shielding the dealers and users of narcotics by not alerting them about the movements of officers of the Agency.
