Despite of the setting up of a commission to probe the alleged missing moneys which report said came through both the Roberts International Airport (RIA) and the Freeport of Monrovia (NPA), both the Ministers of Justice and Information, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean and Lenn Eugene Nagbe in separate statements  publicly told the Liberian people that yes indeed an investigation was being conducted regarding the missing containers which were used to bring in the moneys in question into the country.

For his part, the Minister of Finance, Development and Planning, Samuel Tweah in his media interaction publicly debunked what both Ministers Dean and Nagbe said, and publicly denied of the missing of any moneys, stressing that ‘Know  money missing, and that the money is here’, this statement on the part of the chief financial officer of Liberia or Minister of Finance gave rise to a protest organized by civil groups who demanded that the government ‘bring back the missing container’.

This protest on that day paralyzed businesses in Monrovia and its environs as hundreds marched through the streets of Monrovia to present their statement to the international community including the United States embassy, the United Nations, EU, and ECOWAS venting out their frustration on the missing billions while majority languishing abject poverty.
