Tension Erupts In Zwedru, One Killed, As Protesters Set Ablaze Police Station and Vehicle

Tension has escalated in Zwedru following the reported death of an officer representing the Bureau of Correction and Rehabilitation (BCR).

Reports say the BCR officer had gone to purchase water from a Fulani businessman, but was hit to death following a tussle.

Residents are now on the rampage destroying properties.

Already, the protesting citizens have set ablaze a police vehicle and the headquarters of the Liberia National Police in Zwedru.

At least one person has been reportedly killed during the protest.

Gtv Liberia correspondent in Grand Gedeh County, Eric Prosper Quaye says the angry citizens are looting businesses belonging to Fulani and marched to the central mosque in Zwedru.
