Team Of Professional Health Volunteers From Liberia Medical Mission In U.S. Arrived In Liberia
A team of professional health volunteers from the Liberia Medical Mission in the United States has arrived in the Country as usual to provide what is considered as ‘Pro Bono Health Services’ to the people of Liberia.
The team headed by Joseph Sackor expressed thanks and appreciation to its many partners, World Health Organization, APM Terminal, Palm Spring Hotel, AB Foundation, Kiddo International, Oasis Water, friends, the Ministry of Health and office of the First Lady of Liberia, Madam Jewel Howard Taylor for all assistance provided.
According to Mr. Sackor, the team which is in good spirit will be ready to start full operation aimed at catering to the health needs of the Liberian people on Monday, February 26, 2018.
In 2016 as one of its humanitarian services to the people of Liberia, offloaded a 40foot container packed with medical equipment, drugs and medical books shipped to Liberia by diaspora Liberians, especially those residing in the Americas for onward distribution to dozens of medical institutions in Liberia.
Speaking to the GNN, the Chairman of the group Mr. Joseph Sackor lauded the efforts of several US based humanitarian institutions and individuals for awesomely contributing to the health needs of Liberia.
He further urged those institutions in Liberia that are expected to benefit from these distributions to be fairly honest in utilizing whatever items will be given them, and called on authority at the Ministry of Health to monitor those beneficiary institutions to avoid items donated not to be put on sale, stressing, “These items were donated to us by humanitarian institutions and individuals in the US with the sole intent to treat the health needs of Liberians, especially those who cannot afford medical due to lack of finances,” Mr. Sackor.
