SPORTS: Liberia’s First Lady Captains Ministry of State to Victory

Liberia’s First Lady Clar Weah on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, led the Ministry of State to victory as they massacredthe Internal Affairs Ministry in a kickball encounter.

The game is part of the ongoing Intra governmental league which is aimed at promoting sports, building team spirit and uniting employees of government among others.

Amb. Clar Weah captained the spirited and indomitable MOS ladies to demolish Internal Affairs by 21 home runs to zero.

Mrs. Weah took the opening shot, inspiring her girls to victory before handing over the captain band to the assistant captain Ashley Lombeaon the Barclay Training Center, BTC’s sports pitch.

The girls maintained the momentum until the final whistle, rendering Minister Varney Sirleaf’s side massively trashed.

The Liberian First Lady, in a brief remark, commended the team for bringing pride to the Ministry and challenged them to maintain such pace.

The MOS ladies are now qualified for the next round of the tournament after winning two of their three matches.

They lost to the National Transit Authority, NTA, 9 home runs to 2 in their first match and later defeated the Ministry of Mines and Energy 7-1.
