SEAL Condemns Destabilizing Rhetoric by Former Government Officials
-Distances Itself from June 17 Protest By Mulbah Morlu et Al
Monrovia, Liberia – The South- Eastern Alliance of Liberia (SEAL) strongly condemns recent statements and actions by Mulbah Morlu, Isaac Jackson, and other former officials of the past administration who appear intent on sowing chaos and instability within the country.
In a statement issued on its Facebook Page Over the weekend, SEAL is particularly alarmed by calls from Mr. Mulbah Morlu, former Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), urging Liberians to assemble on July 17, 2025, under the guise of a national protest. Mr. Morlu, who has previously been heard in widely circulated audio recordings accusing former President George Weah of serious misconduct, lacks the moral authority and integrity to advocate on behalf of the Liberian people.
A press statement posted on the group’s Facebook page said Morlu must not be taken seriously. The last time we checked, he falsely claimed to have met former U.S. President Barack Obama in a corridor during his inauguration, a fabricated story that exposed his habitual dishonesty. He also accused former President George Weah of engaging in inappropriate relationships with female employees before offering them jobs, only to later dismiss those serious allegations as mere “liquor talk.” Such erratic and deceptive behavior underscores a consistent pattern of manipulation, not leadership.
It can also be recalled that Mr. Isaac Jackson is notoriously known for badmouthing his benefactors in the name of political survival. He once maliciously criticized the late Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, may peace be to his ashes, just to secure favor from former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Mr. Jackson has a long history of disrespect and betrayal when job-seeking is at stake, a character flaw unbecoming of any public servant. He is a self-serving opportunist, and no serious national discourse should ever give him even a micro-inch of credence. He is a bad influence on this generation and a disservice to the values of public leadership.
In stark contrast to the destructive legacies of these individuals, SEAL commends the tangible progress being made under the leadership of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai (JNB) and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung (JKK). Their administration has prioritized timely payment of civil servant salaries, salary increases, public sector reform, and the revitalization of education, healthcare, and national infrastructure.
“We will not remain silent while those who once suppressed and marginalized the Liberian people attempt to rewrite history and regain influence through misinformation and unrest. They imposed hardship, reduced salaries, and prioritized partisanship over competence. They are not champions of the people, they are the architects of past suffering.”
SEAL therefore urges all well-meaning Liberians to reject the planned protest and instead support the government’s agenda to promote peace, economic stability, and national development. Liberia is on the path to recovery, and President Boakai remains committed to rebuilding the nation with transparency, justice, and opportunity for all.
