Roots FM radio station was this morning shut down by officers of the Liberia National Police following few hours after the Manager of the station announced on his show, the Costa Show, that the Liberian government through the Ministry of Justice was contemplating the closure of the station.
Few hours later, the station was seen barricaded with score of police officers from the Liberia National Police amid the presence of hundreds of supporters of Henry P. Costa , owner of the radio station did not overwhelme the police to do their work.
The echo of the bursting of the protective gate at the radio station could be heard live via Face Book, allegedly by the police, while those who had gone there to resist the closure of the station were being chased out by the police.
While the police was barricading the Roots FM, some of the protesting crowd moved to the grounds of Freedom FM on Randall Street owned by Deputy Director of the National Security Agency (NSA), Sam Sayon opting for its closure.
