The Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah has suspended with immediate effect Madam Makenneh L. Keita, Presidential Special Projects Coordinator.

According to an Executive Mansion official page, Madam Keita was suspended on Monday August 23, 2021, for allegedly soliciting Five Million United States Dollars (US$5M0 from a business man who was exploring investment opportunities.

Accordingly Madam Makenneh Keita is asked to report to the office of the legal Advisor to the President for investigation.

Meanwhile, the Liberian leader has reiterated his instruction to all government officials to act in conformity with the laws of Liberia.

He also warned would-be investors to work directly with the National Investment Commission (NIC) if they desire to invest in the country, the Executive Mansion page said,

Over the past weeks GNN-Liberia and Smart News Liberia have been investigating an alleged solicitation of a Five Million United States Dollars in order to award an investment opportunity to some South African investors who arrived in the country.

In order to ascertain the facts surrounding the alleged Five Million United States Dollars ‘bribe’, both online institutions made all efforts to contact Madam Keita and those who were allegedly linked to this deal via phone calls and text messages, without responding to our enquiry.
