President Weah Releases New Date For The Reopening Of Roberts International Airport

Amid the growing number of confirmed cases of the deadly Coronavirus in Liberia, the Liberian leader, President George Manneh Weah has with immediate effect change the June 21, 2020, the date set for the reopening of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) to June 28, 2020.

The mandate from the Liberian leader was made public by the Minister of Information, Lenn Eugene Nagbe when he spoke to state radio, ELBC today, June 19, 2020.

He said President Weah is expected to meet with authority at the RIA, the Minister of Transport, and those from the Ministry of Health in order to finalize all the arrangements regarding to health protocols at the Airport.

Already Liberians and foreign residents are worrying over the increased number of confirmed cases of the virus released by health authority.

As of today, June 19, 2020 Liberia has 542 confirmed cases according to health authorities with 33 deaths.
