President Weah Consoles Brazil On The Death Of World’s Soccer Hero, Pelé
The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has sent a condolence message to His Excellency Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Brazil following the death of Edison Arantes Nascimento popularly Known as Pele.
He died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the age of Eighty-Two (82).
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President George Manneh Weah, On behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Brazil, to the Government and People of Brazil and in particular, the bereaved Family for the irreparable loss sustained.
President Weah stated that Pele will be remembered as one of the greatest footballers in the world and a Brazilian football legend.
The Liberian Leader then prayed and hoped that God grant consolation as the country endures this difficult period of mourning. Press Release
