President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has returned to Monrovia after concluding his annual Christmas visit to Lofa County. The President spent five days engaging with citizens, local leaders, and community stakeholders across the Foya Statutory District. The visit, which concluded on Saturday, December 27, was defined by reconciliatory outreach, town hall meetings, and development-focused activities aimed at strengthening the bond between national leadership and grassroots communities.

The President’s tour commenced in Porluma Town within the Waum Administrative District. During his time there, he presided over the official induction of Township and District Commissioners. In a move highlighting his administration’s focus on rural healthcare, President Boakai also broke ground for the construction of a new District Hospital, emphasizing the need for improved medical service delivery in the region.

Residents of Porluma expressed their gratitude for the President’s inclusive leadership and his willingness to engage directly with the populace. As a gesture of appreciation and traditional hospitality, community members presented the President with various gifts, including livestock.

President Boakai later traveled to Tengia Town in the Tengia Administrative District, where he received a warm reception from residents offering messages of support. During this leg of the journey, the President paid a solemn tribute at the newly refurbished grave of his late grandfather, Honorable Kettor Ngrulumai.

The visit continued to Worsongar, the President’s birthplace, where he was met with jubilation. While in the town, President Boakai inspected the bridge linking Liberia and Sierra Leone—an infrastructure project he previously spearheaded—and toured local clinic and school facilities to assess current conditions and service delivery.

Upon returning to Foya City, the President hosted meetings with delegations from across Lofa County and neighboring areas. These groups presented goodwill messages and development proposals while raising critical issues affecting their respective communities.

President Boakai has long upheld the tradition of spending the Christmas holiday in Lofa County to celebrate with the residents of Foya and the surrounding areas. This annual visit reflects his enduring connection to his roots and his commitment to grassroots engagement as a primary pillar of his presidency.
