I predicted Weah’s victory – Kwabena Yeboah
Celebrated Ghanaian sports journalist and President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah, has said he predicted some thirteen years ago that ex-Liberian footballer George Oppong Weah was going to be the president of Liberia.
Mr Weah won the recently held presidential elections in Liberia to replace Africa’s first elected female head of state, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
He was sworn into office on Monday January 22.
Commenting on this development in an interview with Accra Sports on Friday January 26, Mr Yeboah said : “We have a wonderful relationship over the years and so I was so excited that he ascended the throne.
“Thirteen years ago during one of my interactions with him I told him and predicted that he was going to be the president of Liberia, sooner or later.”
“I am very excited and there are a number of reasons why I believed he was going to be president of Liberia.”
