Prayer From The Holy Land – By Cornelius Robert U-Sayee

Oh God of justice and peace! I thank you for the gift of Liberia and Liberians to humanity.

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will be able to steer the wheel of their economy;

I pray for a Liberia where the rich will no longer get richer and the poor get poorer;

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will no longer be jobless but there will be jobs for all;

I pray for a Liberia where government will no longer see education as a burden but as an asset;

I pray for a Liberia where corruption will not be seen as the norm of the day but a grave sin;

I pray for a Liberia where foreigners will respect the beauty of labor and pay their workers justly;

I pray for a Liberia where smaller farmers will no longer be prevented by bad roads from selling their crops;

I pray for a Liberia where Monrovia will no longer be seen as “Liberia” but just an iota of Liberia;

I pray for a Liberia where health facilities will be available to all Liberians irrespective of location;

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will ‘grow what they eat, and eat what they grow’;

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will no longer feel insecure touring their country by day or by night;

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will no longer see Liberia as their second home but as their only home;

I pray for a Liberia that will no longer be dominated by western culture but by Liberian culture

I pray for a Liberia where ethnic, cultural and religious differences will no longer be seen as a threat but as the beauty of diversity;

I pray for a Liberia where its resources will be justly distributed and Liberians becomes resourceful

I pray for a Liberia where Liberians will no longer embrace violence and social ills but will unanimously stand out against such societal vices; and finally,

I pray for a Liberia today, where all Liberians will feel a sense of belonging and will work for its present and future sustenance. AMEN!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BLISSFUL NEW YEAR TO ALL LIBERIANS!!! MAY THIS SEASON REINFORCE OUR SENSE OF PATRIOTICISM AND OUR READINESS TO REBUILD MAMA LIBERIA AS WE REST ON THE WINGS OF HOPE!
