Passionate Hands Give Back Inc Identifies with ‘Underprivileged Individuals’ & Communities in Montserrado and Margibi Counties

A local charitable organization, Passionate Hands Give Back Incorporated (PHGBI) has identified with several ‘underprivileged individuals’ and communities in Montserrado and Margibi Counties. The numerous aid events across Montserrado County are aimed at giving back to society by promoting the well-being of ‘less-fortunate individuals and communities’ through the provision of food, medical supplies, shelter, and clothing.

The group over the weekend provided cooked meals for over 700 disadvantaged, physically challenged, and other vulnerable groups, including women, children, and men at the VAWOMA House in Sinkor. 

Passionate Hands Give Back Incorporated (PHDBI) is a newly established nongovernmental, nonpolitical, and nonprofit organization operating in Liberia. The organization runs two major programs in Montserrado County, the Soup Kitchen and the Meals on Wheels.

Speaking Saturday, July 29, 2023, during its feeling program, the group’s Country Director, Elton Dunn Yoko noted that they recognized the inherent challenges faced by ‘less privileged families’, who struggle daily to meet their basic needs due to financial constraints and limited access to resources.

“Today’s event was just to celebrate with our mothers, the underprivileged children, and vulnerable groups who normally sit here at VAMOMA House to ask for assistance and give them hope,” he said.

He said with a solid commitment to combating hunger and poverty, the Meals on Wheels initiative employs a multifaceted approach to reach those in need. 

It combines the dedication of a dedicated team of volunteers, strategic partnerships, and a well-coordinated distribution system to ensure that nutritious meals reach the doorsteps of the most vulnerable.

The organization collaborates with local communities, schools, orphanages, and community centers to identify the individuals and families who would benefit most from this program.

The organization places special emphasis on inclusivity, ensuring that the elderly, widows, orphans, and vulnerable youths are not overlooked or forgotten in the process.  To ensure the nutritional value and quality of the meals, the Organization works with nutritionists and dieticians to design balanced and wholesome menus. 

The beneficiaries thanked the organization for the meal and prayed for God’s blessings and provisions for more support.  They however called on the government to support such institutions that are in the business of supporting the vulnerable, the old folks, and disadvantaged youth and children in society. 

The organization has been providing hot-cooked meals for over 1000 people through its community outreach feeding program and has constructed a home, distributed pads to school-going girls, raised funds to pay medical bills, and many other things, since it launched on April 15, 2023. 

During its first visit to the New Kru Town community recently, they fed over 400 individuals who are ‘less-privileged’ including women, children, and physically challenged. In West point, they provided for over 200 plus people with meals, and three community Schools where over 300 students were also fed, and the group of 77 in central Monrovia and other physically challenged people and their children were served hot meals.
