Since our establishment in 2008, WoGeS has remained committed to national development by producing and disseminating public‑safety education materials for all categories of road users. Our early assessments revealed that limited access to road‑safety information was a major contributor to fatalities, injuries, poverty, and economic hardship across Liberia. This reality shaped our mission: to ensure every Liberian has access to clear, standardized, and modern road‑safety education.
Today, we proudly acknowledge that, because of the collective support of donor partners, Liberia has made significant progress toward establishing a unified national road‑safety curriculum. Your contributions enabled the Government of Liberia and the RSS to develop a standardized framework from which WoGeS successfully produced:
- Rules of the Road – Instructor Handbook
- Rules of the Road – Student Handbook
- Rules of the Road – Classroom Presentation Series and public safety books for preschoolers, namely;
- Police Safety Education,
- Railroad Safety Education,
- Road Safety Education, and
- Fire Safety Education,
- Duty and Responsibility of a Liberian Citizen, all for Preschoolers with other civic books in the making.
These materials directly support the Government of Liberia’s Public Safety Agenda and align with the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030.
They cover all categories of road users, including Pedestrians, Passengers, Tricycle Riders, Scooter Riders, Bicycle Riders, Motorcycle Riders, Three‑Wheeled Operators, Light‑Duty Vehicle Drivers, and Heavy‑Duty Vehicle Drivers. Content was developed using Liberia’s first Highway Code, the TVET Curriculum, and the 1972 Vehicle and Traffic Laws—enhanced by supplemental education and media from the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and leading European road‑safety organizations.
These achievements mark a historic milestone for Liberia’s public‑safety education sector.
As we continue this national journey, WoGeS is preparing additional specialized training materials, including:
- Driver Education Instructor Manual
- Driver Examiner Training Guide
- Earth‑Moving Equipment Rules of the Road
- Motorcycle Riders Training Curriculum
These upcoming publications will further strengthen Liberia’s capacity to train, certify, and regulate all road users according to international best practices.
WoGeS is also seeking partnerships with civil‑society organizations to ensure proper circulation of these life‑saving materials. We welcome collaboration with local and international partners to develop additional educational content and expand media outlets—so that every resident of Liberia can access road‑safety education through audio, video, and graphic formats, especially in consideration of the country’s educational challenges.
We recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of all donor organizations, multilateral institutions, bilateral partners, development agencies, and global road‑safety bodies whose investments have empowered Liberia to modernize its road‑safety systems, reduce preventable deaths, and build a safer future for all residents.
