Update: No Mudslide In Kinjor, BMMC Safety Manager Clarifies

Speaking to a team of journalists who travelled to Grand Cape Mount County, specifically Kinjor, the main operational area of Bea Mountain Mining Company, the Safety Manager of the company, Shedra Fahnbulleh denied report that several persons were killed as a result mudslide.

Fahnbulleh told journalists that what took place at the mining site of the company was a. Accident that led to the death of one Liberian, and two foreign nationals who severely got wounded as a result of falling pieces of rocks in the mining tunnel.

He used the interview  with journalists to publicly rubbished speculations that several were killed, with others severely wounded, noting, “Only one person die from the accident, while two other foreign nationals who got wounded have been admitted at the JFK Memorial Hospital”,  Mr. Fahnbulleh told journalists on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the BMMC Kinjor operational site.

Also speaking to journalists,  the  Town Chief of Kinjor, Zinnah Darblo expressed disappointment of such misleading information that several persons died, and others wounded at mining tunnel, adding, “What I know is that only one person died, with two Turkish employees of BMMC sustaining serious injuries, this about the death of several persons is false and misleading” Town Chief Darblo told journalists.
