NPP Gurus Threaten To Abandon Alliance, Opts For New Political Party

Liberian Vice President, Chief Jewel Howard Taylor

Information gathered by the GNN has revealed that the alliance initially formed in January 2017 which bought President George Maneh Weah to power by bringing together the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), National Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Liberia People’s Democratic Party (LPDP) is gradually falling apart with the news of the formation of a new political party which is likely to feature Liberia’s Vice President.

According inside sources within the ruling CDC, this new party which is in the making, aimed at battling with the President George Weah during the 2023 general and presidential elections has already called on all executive members of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) who are part of the alliance to be in readiness for their departure.

GNN sources also revealed that the former Liberian leader, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who had always opted for a female presidency is said to be the brain behind this new formation, making sure that the current Vice President of Liberia Chief Jewel Howard Taylor will be chosen as the next Liberian President in the 2023 elections.

It has also been discovered that some prominent members of the NPP have resolved to pat off with the CDC in the not too long distance, claiming that the assurance given during the early days of the collaboration has failed, and that the leadership of the CDC has overly taken over the reign of the government, disregarding the role the NPP played in the alliance.

Effort by the GNN to contact one of the stakeholders of the NPP, Chief Cyril Allen regarding this latest development has failed, as his mobile phone rang endlessly, while the office of the Liberian Vice President, Chief Jewel Howard Taylor is yet to response to our enquiry on the matter.
