By Sunday Nwakanma

The Labour Party winner of Kwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Obi Aguocha, has dedicated his victory in the just concluded Saturday polls to God.

Speaking with newsmen on Monday, Aguocha dedicated the victory to God and the resolve of the people to enthrone a new order.

Aguocha defeated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji of the People’s Democratic Party with over 13,000 votes.

Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Prof. Uma Kalu Oke, said Aguocha of LP polled a total of 48,199 to defeat Orji who polled 35,196 votes.

Orji is the son of a former governor of Abia State, who is the senator representing Abia Central at the National Assembly, Theodore Ahamefule Orji, who did not contest again, having served eight years at the Red Chamber.

He extended hands of fellowship to all to enable him bring development to the constituency.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach Rt. Hon. Orji proved abortive and could not be reached for his comment.
