The women and girls many of whom who are pregnant while others of already mothers of Flumpa, Nimba County are to shortly enjoy health facilities to be offered by the Yei Kaypen Conway Maternal Child & Adolescents Health Center.
The dream for the establishment of this new healthcare center for baby mothers, children and adolescents Dr. Yar Donlah Gonway Gono, former President of the Nimba County Community College (NCCC), noting the importance of the health needs of the people of the county, particularly pregnant women and girls who are finding it very difficult to be catered to in their situation.
Today’s awareness brought together hundreds of baby mothers, children and adolescents from several communities in Flumpa and other nearby towns and villages to grace the occasion, and to appreciate Dr. Gono for her thoughtfulness, and others for the establishment of this new health center.
Speaking at the awareness program, Dr. Gono expressed thanks and appreciation to several individuals and institutions for their support to her dream, making specific reference of the Founder of I-Help Liberia Project, a US based NGO, Mr. Asumana Jabateh Randall and his team for their support towards the achievement of this project.
Dr. Gono assured her kinsmen in providing better and improved healthcare services during the lifespan of the Yei Kaypen Conway Maternal Child & Adolescents Health Center, noting that when completed the danger usually faced by pregnant women and baby mothers during the delivering and other related childbirth problems will be erased.
For his part, the Liberia Country Director for I-Help Liberia Project, Mr. Abraham jabateh praised Dr. Gono for her hard work and resilience in making sure that her people, particularly pregnant women and girls are properly taken care of, and further promised that the leadership of I-Help Liberia Project will support her dream by providing qualified medical doctors who are also scholars of his organization, I-Help Liberia Project.
Also speaking at the awareness program were beneficiaries; baby mothers and their spouses who expressed thanks to Dr. Gono, her support staff and the international donors who all have made it possible for the establishment of this health center.
Others present to grace the occasion were some state actors, including the police, and other security agencies who making remarks assured Dr. Gono of their support.
