The Director General of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA), Hon. D. Nelson Bearngar, has urged Liberians to use the occasion of the nation’s 179th National Flag Day celebration to reaffirm their commitment to national unity, peace, and sustainable development.
In his official Flag Day message, Director General Bearngar extended warm greetings to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., Vice President Jeremiah K. Koung, members of the 55th Legislature, the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, the Cabinet, the Armed Forces of Liberia, and Liberians both at home and across the diaspora.
Highlighting the deeper meaning of the national emblem, Bearngar emphasized that the Liberian flag represents far more than its red, white, and blue design. He described the Lone Star as a powerful symbol of identity, history, courage, sacrifice, and collective hope. He added that the true significance of Flag Day extends beyond ceremonial displays, offering a pivotal moment for citizens across all sectors to deepen their sense of oneness and shared purpose.
The CNDRA boss called on Liberians to treat the flag as an enduring inspiration and a reminder of their duty to foster a peaceful, educated, just, and prosperous nation. He prayed that the Lone Star would continue to shine brightly over Liberia, encouraging every citizen to contribute meaningfully toward building a more equitable and united country.
Closing his address, Director General Bearngar wished the staff of the National Archives and the general public a peaceful, reflective, and memorable 179th National Flag Day.
