Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi rejected Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana from sitting on her 13-member January 6 commission.

In an unprecedented display of partisanship, Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi rejected Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana from sitting on her 13-member January 6 commission.

In a statement riddled with overdramatic claims and lies that the Capitol riot was “the worst domestic assault on American Democracy since the Civil War” and a “terrorist mob attack,” Pelosi declared that two of the five Republicans House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy nominated to sit on the partisan committee were not good enough.

“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” she wrote.
