Meet Liberia’s New Police Chief Designate – Patrick Toe Sudue
As Liberia, Africa’s oldest Republic changes its political gear; ushering in another team of leadership to steer the state of affairs with the Country’s pride internationally, soccer legend George Manneh Weah as its 24th President being called to serve his Country for another six years, several qualified Liberians have been picked to join the leadership wagon of the nation.
One of such qualified Liberians who have been called upon to form part of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led Government is Mr. Patrick Toe Sudue as Liberia’s incoming Police Chief, his level of vast experiences in the security sector gave him edge over others.
The professional profile of Mr. Patrick Toe Sudue as an experience law enforcement officer is being backed with rich credentials dating back in the early1990s when he joined Liberia National Police in September 1, 1992 where he sincerely earned for himself respect amongst his colleagues serving 25 consecutive years in the law-enforcement sector.
Speaking to the GNN-Liberia, the Police Chief designate explained that his professional career started as a patrolman with the function of dispatching communications in and out of the headquarters, where he said he patiently worked his way through the rank and files of the LNP up to the point of his preferment by His Excellency George M. “I am one of the brains behind the reduction of crimes in Liberia which is evident by the subsequent arrest of numerous armed robbers during my regular night patrols. I played a lead role in the arrest of those that were involved in the death of the late Keith Jabbah former head of the PPCC on his farm, restoring law and order at Liberia Agriculture Company (LAC) that was rocked by a very serious demonstration and looting of the company assets, resolved the Ganta riot that caused businessman Prince Howard to lose his properties, I also negotiated the release of Dr. Roland Massaquoi who was held hostage on fendell campus and assisted the University of Liberia finding a peaceful solution to the students riot, resolved many demonstrations in and around Monrovia,” he told our reporter in an exclusive interview.
Speaking further about his professional performances, Mr. Sudue said he was instrumental in arresting one of the culprits in the killing of a Muslim brother who was shot around the Cemenco factory on the freeway during last year fast month, and re-arrested one of the murderers who was involved in the death of an American national at the Mamba Point hotel, he broke jail from the Monrovia Central prison.
“I led the fight and dissolution of some notorious armed robbers group called the Red Head Tie and eleven brothers of west point and the exchange of gun fire between me and about 10 armed robbers in September 2016 in the Saye and Jallah’s Town communities, just to name a few,” he said.
“I usually ensure the management, command and control of officers of the Liberia National police, to ensure the proper execution of all strategic operational plans which are relative to the enforcement of Laws and ordinances in the country, the preservation of public peace; the prevention, detection and investigation of criminals and to observe the human rights of all citizens,” he told the GNN-Liberia.
