Weah Village, Maryland County — Grief and tension have gripped the residents of Weah Village following the brutal killing of a 3-year-old boy, allegedly at the hands of a man known only as Prince, who remains at large.
The tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, July 10, 2025. Little Adolphus Collins was momentarily left unattended by his mother, Oretha Nyemah, under a tent serving as a makeshift kitchen. According to Gabriel Harmon, General Town Chief of Weah Village, the mother briefly stepped into the house, only to return and discover her child’s lifeless body with severe wounds.
Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect, believed to be in his early 30s, immediately fled the scene. Community members, aided by the Community Watch Forum, swiftly launched a manhunt, thoroughly searching nearby bushes and surrounding villages. The search is ongoing as of press time.
“We are devastated. This is beyond understanding,” Chief Harmon stated. “This child was innocent, and the community is shaken to its core.”
The child’s body was buried the same day, with hundreds of grief-stricken sympathizers flooding the village to mourn with the bereaved family. Oretha Nyemah is reportedly suffering from deep psychological trauma and is receiving community support.
Adding to the horror, it was revealed that earlier the same day, Prince allegedly threatened to kill local farmer Jackson Wesseh during an early morning confrontation.
“Wake up! I’m ready for you because my devil needs blood today,” Prince reportedly declared after knocking on Wesseh’s door while the farmer was still in bed.
Later that day, Wesseh returned home from the village to find his house burned to the ground. The fire destroyed all his belongings, including clothing, household items, farming tools, and cash.
According to residents, Prince is known for violent behavior and has a troubled past, including reported physical abuse against his own parents. One villager noted that his father allegedly severed ties with him due to his erratic and abusive conduct.
Originally from Harper City, the suspect had recently moved to Weah Village, reportedly to engage in charcoal burning. His sudden disappearance has left community members on edge and desperate for justice.
Weah Village is located approximately 8 kilometers from Harper, along the Pleebo Highway. Authorities are urging the public to assist in the search.
“We appeal to anyone with information on Prince’s whereabouts to immediately report it to local authorities or the nearest police station,” a local official urged.
As the manhunt continues, residents are appealing for increased security and psychological support for the victim’s family, especially the grieving mother, whose trauma is said to be profound.
