LPP Elects New Executives Elected, With J. Yanqui Zaza As National Chairman
The Liberian People’s Party (LPP) held its National Amos Sawyer Memorial Congress at the Lutheran Church Conference Hall on 13th Street Sinkor in the City of Monrovia.
The Congress brought together partisans and well-wishers from the fifteen political subdivisions of Liberia.
The Congress resolved to hold the Party’s Legislative and Presidential Convention towards the end of 2022 including the adoption of its revised Party Constitution.
During the Congress, the following National Officers were elected to steer the affairs of the party:
Partisan J. Yanqui Zaza, National Chairman
Partisan George B. Caine, National Vice Chairman for Administration
Partisan Steve F. Ricks, National Vice Chairman for Operations
Partisan Major T. Samukai, National Vice Chairman for Recruitment and Mobilization
Partisan Leon P. Talery, National Secretary General
Partisan Lucia Massalee-Yallah, National Treasurer
Partisan Aaron Nelson, Assistant Secretary General for Press and Propaganda
Partisan Amos Y. Bartu, Jr., Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs
Meanwhile, the Congress mandated the National Executive Committee to fill the positions of Financial Secretary and Chaplain at subsequent time before end of the 2022.
Speaking on behalf of the elected officers, Chairman J. Yanqui Zaza thanked Congressional delegates for the confidence reposed in the elected officers and promised to make LPP vibrant, visible and functional as well as called on the Partisans that for one reason or the other decided to stay off activities or left the party to come back home.
LPP is your home of comfort. Chairman Zaza also lamented that LPP shall be a formidable force in the 2023 legislative and presidential elections.
