Liberians Overwhelm Of Tony Elumelu Foundation Support To Africa

Speaking on a local radio station today the Marketing & Communication Executive at the United Bank for Africa Liberia, Mrs. Melody Mezay Ketter making specific reference of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) upcoming Entrepreneurship which usually bring together thousands of African entrepreneurs through, training, mentorship and funding.

Mrs. Ketter speaking further encouraged Liberian business entrepreneurs to use the TEF training platform, noting that it is very important for Liberian entrepreneurs to be a part of this great even which will also afford them to join their colleagues around the continent of Africa if they are to be successful in their business venture.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation is a leading champion of entrepreneurship in Africa with the objective empowering women and men across our continent, catalysing economic growth, driving poverty eradication and ensuring job creation.

Answering questions from the public, Mrs. Ketter said to be a part of the TEF every yearly is a blessing for those African entrepreneurs who are in need of urgent assistance to improving their businesses from their respective countries

Some of the callers who called on the radio station (OK FM 99.5) praised the founder of the foundation, Mr. Tony Elumelu for his quest for empowering African entrepreneurs over the years, and further urged him to continue his hard work.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), Africa’s leading philanthropy dedicated to empowering African entrepreneurs, opens applications on its TEFConnect digital platform (www.tefconnect.com) today, January 1, 2021.

This year’s intervention prioritises the economic recovery of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) and young African entrepreneurs, following the Covid-19 disruption to economic activities.

To address the unique challenges arising from the pandemic, lift millions out of poverty and create sustainable employment across the continent, the Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Programme will empower 1,000 young African entrepreneurs, selected from the 2020 cohort.  The Foundation will also open applications to an additional 2,400 young entrepreneurs in 2021, in collaboration with global partners.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation, which celebrated ten years of impact in 2020, is empowering a new generation of African entrepreneurs, through the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme.  Successful applicants receive a world-class business training, mentorship, non-refundable seed capital up to $5,000, and global networking opportunities.  The Programme is open to entrepreneurs across Africa, both new start-ups and existing young businesses, operating in any sector.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation’s $100million Entrepreneurship Programme, launched in 2015 to empower 10,000 entrepreneurs over 10 years, is now entering its 7th year and has empowered to date, over 9,000 young African entrepreneurs from 54 African countries.

Prospective applicants should apply on the digital networking hub for African entrepreneurs, Mrs. Ketter told callers on the OK FM in Monrovia.
